Home > CoMando Sessions - > FAQ

What songs may I provide?

  1. Your recording must be either in the public domain or an individual composition. Cover tunes will not be accepted at this time.
  2. Songs with explicit lyrics are not allowed. There is a high potential for download by audiences that we cannot verify.
  3. Performances by single individuals or groups are allowed.

What media formats to you accept?
  1. Songs may be MP3, AIFF, or CD.
  2. In some cases, we can take tape, vinyl or other formats but please confirm specialty formats including 2" tape.

Will I get paid?
  1. No
  2. By submitting songs to this web site, you automatically release this site and its operators from any liability, royalties or contingent fees resulting from the distribution of your work in any form.

Will the site be paid?
  1. No
  2. The site provides this music as a service to the mandolin playing public and to those who enjoy music.

How do I upload a song?
  1. After submitting the CoMando Sessions form, you will be sent instructions on transferring the media.
  2. Songs are sent via email or snail mail to an address or ftp site provided by the project manager.

May I send in more than one song?
  1. Yes, within reason, but you need to submit a CoMando Sessions form for each submission. Do not submit a complete album. If we feel there are too many submissions from one artist, we may choose to limit the uploads.

What are the recording standards?
  1. We have chosen not to enforce recording standards. The preferred file format is either CD, AIFF or MP3 files. MP3 files should be CD quality or better at 192kHz.
  2. High quality recordings are encouraged. Listeners will enjoy a well prepared and engineered performance.
  3. In certain rare cases, the recording may be returned for re-work. The mastering process will provide for basic level correction, some noise reduction and EQ but massive mastering episodes will not be provided.

Can you help with recording questions?
  1. To some degree, we can provide insights into recording. Please email the project manager at bluegrassplayer1@aol.com with specific questions.
